Sale signs live or die on the number. 50% OFF is a sign; “GREAT SAVINGS INSIDE” is wallpaper. Put the figure first, make it the largest thing on the screen, and let everything else be a short qualifier after it.
Red carries urgency almost everywhere, which is exactly why it wears out. A red sign that has been in the window for six weeks reads as the normal state of the shop rather than as an event. If the offer is permanent, it is not a sale, and a calmer template will serve you better.
Clearance is a different message from a discount, even though both are percentages. Clearance says the stock is going and will not return, so a deadline does real work: UNTIL SUNDAY, or WHILE STOCK LASTS. Update it the day it stops being true.
Sale Alert
Red sale banners work when the offer is one number. Percent off plus a category is enough. Long conditions belong on a printed card, not in scrolling Text.

Clearance Sale
Clearance Text should say what is leaving and how much. Let speed and color carry the urgency. Stop the loop when the rack is empty.
